Bringing AI Governance Into the Flow of Work
AI is moving from experimentation into everyday work. Teams use data and AI to make decisions, serve customers, and automate processes. Identity is adding Counterpoise and Verity solutions alongside its consulting repertoire to address different parts of that challenge. Counterpoise is the modular governance platform. Verity is its data assurance capability. Together, they bring governance controls and evidence closer to the workflows where AI and data are used.
Counterpoise makes governance operational
Counterpoise brings together Governance, Privacy, Ethics and Security capabilities, coordinated through an orchestration layer. The aim is to make responsibilities and rules actionable: who can use particular information, for what purpose, under which conditions, and when to escalate a decision for human review.
A modular approach gives organisations room to start with a focused need and extend as their requirements grow. A smaller organisation may begin with a specific workflow or governance concern; a larger organisation may need several controls working across teams and systems. The platform is being designed to support that progression, with deployment options intended to serve both SME and enterprise requirements.
Verity adds evidence and traceability
Governance is easier to trust when an organisation can explain what happened. Verity is being developed as a data assurance layer to help capture provenance, quality checks, commitments and evidence around governed activity. It is intended to help answer questions such as: where did this information come from, what checks were applied, and what supported the decision to allow an action?
That record can make review more concrete. Teams can examine the context behind a decision, identify where information changed and understand which controls were relevant. Verity is designed to support traceable assurance records, including wallet-first records, as the product develops.
One connected approach
Counterpoise and Verity are complementary. Counterpoise provides the governance and policy controls around an AI or data-enabled workflow. Verity supports assurance by recording relevant provenance and evidence. The intended result is a clearer link between the rules an organisation sets, the actions its workflows take and the information available to review those actions.
Technology alone does not settle questions of accountability. People still need to define acceptable use, assess risk and make decisions when a workflow reaches its limits. AIdentity’s advisory work helps organisations translate those responsibilities into practical operating models, while Counterpoise and Verity are being developed to make repeatable controls and evidence easier to apply.
The goal is measured adoption: introduce governance where it helps, keep human oversight and accountability meaningful and build confidence through evidence. As AI becomes part of routine operations, organisations need more than a policy document. They need a workable way to put that policy into practice and show what followed.
